Who the Relaxation suits
The Relaxation is the step up from the 12 ft wide pools. Two extra feet of width and four more feet of length make a real difference once there are more than four people in the water. Kids can swim across without bumping the adults sitting at the side, and there is enough depth at the far end, 6 ft, for older kids to swim underwater.
Liberty tags the standard Relaxation with swim-up seating, a tanning ledge and multiple entry points. The Deluxe is aimed at households who want a spa and would rather have it inside the pool than beside it.
Relaxation and Relaxation Deluxe compared
Both are 14 by 30 ft freeforms. The standard model runs from 3 ft 6 in to 6 ft and holds about 10,000 gallons. The Deluxe runs from 4 ft to 6 ft and holds about 9,000 gallons, per Liberty, and is tagged with a built-in spa, ample swim-up seats and multiple entries. The spa is what the extra $4,300 in our packages buys.
Liberty's listings for the standard model include a tanning ledge; the Deluxe listing does not. If you want both a ledge and a spa in one shell, the Heavenly 14 Deluxe is worth comparing. Both versions of the Relaxation are non-diving.
Fitting a Relaxation on an Ohio lot
With our 4 ft deck, the Relaxation needs about 22 by 38 ft. In Hudson it must sit behind the main mass of the house and 15 ft from side and rear lines, and on a corner lot 50 ft from the side line. Jackson Township asks for 10 ft from lot lines, with a larger setback where a side or rear line meets a secondary street. Corner lots are where we most often rotate the pool to make it fit.
A freeform can angle to follow the sun or to keep the deep end away from the house. On wet clay near a basement wall, keeping distance from the foundation is also a drainage decision, and we plan the grading around both.
What the installed price includes
Both packages include the Liberty shell and full installation, a Pentair variable-speed pump, a Pentair DE filter, a pool heater, Pentair MicroBrite color-changing LED lights, a 4 ft concrete wrap deck, a cleaning kit, starter chemicals and the electrical hook-up at the equipment. Every pool gets a 3D design and we handle the permits.
We price the yard-specific items after the site visit: the barrier fence, extra decking, spoils haul-off, dewatering if needed and the run from the panel to the pad. If you choose the Deluxe, the pool heater that comes with the package also keeps the spa hot, and we size it with that in mind.
Common upgrades on a Relaxation
On the standard model, bubblers on the tanning ledge and a heater. On the Deluxe, a heater sized for spa temperatures, and often a spillover effect from the spa. Either way, a safety cover suits the freeform shape, and a wider patio on the seating side makes the pool the center of the yard in the evenings. Automation is worth a look on the Deluxe in particular, because switching between spa and pool modes from a phone is much easier than walking out to valves at the equipment pad.
