A package price is a real starting point you can plan around. It is not a promise about your yard, though.

Your yard can add to that. The fence your town requires, extra patio, hauling the dirt away and pumping water out of a wet dig are priced after we walk the site, so you know what applies before you sign.

Want a shape no mold offers, or a pool wider than 16 feet? We build ICF concrete and Latham vinyl liner pools too, and we will tell you when one of those is the better answer.

Field notes · Northeast Ohio clay

What goes under the pool matters more than the pool.

Most yards we dig sit on glacial till, clay and silt packed tight and slow to drain. A common soil here holds water 6 to 12 inches below the surface from October through June in most years, according to the USDA. A one-piece fiberglass shell gives wet ground and hard freezes no liner seams or plaster to work on, and that is why we lead with it.

Cross-section of a fiberglass pool installed in Ohio clayNumbered parts: 1 concrete deck, 2 fiberglass shell, 3 crushed stone backfill, 4 stone base, 5 sump pipe, 6 perched water table, 7 frost depth, 8 native glacial till. The yard is graded away from the pool on both sides.12345678GRADE AWAY
Section through a fiberglass install, simplified and not to scale. Key:
  1. 4 ft concrete wrap deckPoured on a compacted stone base, included in every package.
  2. One-piece fiberglass shellNo liner seams to open up, no plaster to resurface. Nonporous gelcoat.
  3. Clean crushed stone backfillPlaced in matching lifts as the pool fills, so the walls stay true.
  4. Leveled stone baseStone drains and compacts where sand can shift when saturated.
  5. Sump pipe at the deep endLets groundwater under the pool be checked and pumped if ever needed.
  6. Perched water tableCommon local soil can hold water 6 to 12 in down from October to June (USDA).
  7. Frost depthSummit County requires deck footings to reach 38 in. The cold gets deep here.
  8. Native glacial tillDense clay and silt. We dewater the dig and grade the yard to shed water.
Why fiberglass, 1

One piece from the factory

Wet clay pushes from outside, water pushes from inside, freeze after thaw. A single shell has no seams for that to work on.

Why fiberglass, 2

A surface water can't soak into

Liberty's Crystite gelcoat is nonporous, so water and chemicals sit on the surface. It also feels smooth underfoot, which the kids notice first.

Why fiberglass, 3

Less to fight every spring

For most families who want a good pool that stays out of their way, fiberglass is the right call in Northeast Ohio. We say so plainly.

Order of work

Six steps, and you see every one before it happens.

The dig, set and backfill usually take about two to three days. The planning before it takes longer, and that is where a pool is won or lost, so that is where we spend the time.

  1. 01Plan

    Site visit and 3D design

We walk the yard, check access, grade and drainage, and design the pool in 3D on your lot so you see the shell, deck and fence line before you commit.

  2. 02Paper

    Permits

We prepare the site plan and handle the zoning and building approvals your town requires, including the barrier plan.

  3. 03Dig

    Excavation and base

We lay out and dig the pool, manage any groundwater in the hole and build a level base for the shell.

  4. 04Set

    Setting the shell

The shell is lifted in and leveled, then water and backfill go in together so the walls stay under even pressure.

  5. 05Deck

    Plumbing, deck and equipment

We run and pressure test the plumbing, pour the 4 ft concrete deck, set the Pentair equipment and make the electrical connections.

  6. 06Swim

    Startup

We grade for drainage, start the system, balance the water with the starter chemicals and show you how everything runs.

What we build

Pools first. Then everything around them.

One crew, one 3D design, one set of permits for the pool, the deck and the backyard it sits in.

Project minimums: pools from about $60,000, outdoor living projects from about $15,000. We do not build above-ground pools.
